An early morning visit to the frosty Blackwater River in Swallowfield, near Reading, paid off as I was in time to catch the mist rising from the river. The Blackwater River begins in Rowhill Nature Reserve in Hampshire and flows into the River Loddon a short distance from where I took these pictures. It's 16.7 miles long and indirectly flows into the Thames as the River Loddon joins the Thames at Wargrave.
